    I am 23 years old, I'd only been in Saudi Arabia a few days when this happened to me.

    Back home in the Philippines my family is very poor, my mother and father couldn't feed or educate all of us so I was sent to Saudi Arabia for work. I was expected to send most of what I earned back to my family. They comforted me before I left telling me I'd only be away for a few years...

    I was scared and alone, if it weren't for the hunger and desperation I would never have left my family behind. Who does? Surely you don't believe all those Indonesian, Philippino and Bengali workers want to leave their homes to slave in a racist country.

    I was working for a Saudi family, they were the real Muslims, unlike me a Muslim that was beneath them. My boss kept my passport Incase I ran away like her other maids.

    She was cruel and called me horrible names, but I tolerated it all as I knew this was the state of most domestic workers who came here to earn a living. Some of them had been trafficked in to be sold as sex slaves. Just a few more years and I can go back, I miss my family...

    Today I lie in hospital in agony. She poured boiling water all over my back because I took too long with her coffee. Am I not human to her? They call themselves Muslims but the Islam I heard about taught there was no difference between an Arab a non Arab.

    Do they think that because the earth beneath them created wealth, that they are superior than those who look after their children and clean their homes?

    This is just one example of the ordeal foriegn domestic workers go through in not just Saudi Arabia but also other parts of the Muslim world.

    The mentality of some leads them to treat fellow human worse than animals. Such is the disease of asabiyyah and greed. But to make matters worse these poor workers cannot seek help for anyone as the Saudi system encourages such slavery and refuses to punish it's citizens!

    "Your brothers (employees) are your responsibility. Allah has made them under your hands. So whosoever has a brother under his hand, let him give him food as he eats and dress as he dresses. Do not give them work that will overburden them and if you give them such task then provide them assistance." (Al-Bukhari)

    Die Reise ist zu Ende, 18.08.2012
     
    Selam aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
     
    liebe Geschwister, es tut mir leid dass ich mich erst jetzt melde und euch nicht in Kenntnis gesetzt habe darüber, dass ich wieder im Lande bin. Wir sind vor ein paar Tagen heile und gesund in München angekommen.
     
    Ich muss euch sagen, die Reise hat uns körperlich und geistig so fertig gemacht, dass ich mehrere Tage fast nur geschlafen habe. Ein weiterer Grund dafür, dass ich das Haus nicht verlassen wollte, ist der Kultur Schock, den ich erlitten habe, als ich wieder in Europa war.
     
    All die Plakate mit dem Konsumwahn, all die Menschen und diese Fitna hier, die Probleme und Themen, die die Menschen haben hier, die ganzen Geschäfte, Essen Stände, die Menschen, wie sie in sich herein stopfen und die ganzen Fettleibigen... usw. usw.
     
    Das alles ist mir so zu Kopf gestiegen, ich konnte nicht mehr. Ich habe die Jalousien herunter gemacht und wollte ein paar Tage gar nichts von der Außenwelt wissen...
     
    Ich weiss nicht, ob man dieses Gefühl teilen kann, wenn man Afrika nicht selbst gesehen hat, aber ich bitte euch heute mal heraus zu gehen und einmal bewusst eure Umwelt wahr zu nehmen.
     
    Schaut euch mal die Plakate an und das was auf ihnen steht.
     
    Geht einmal durch die Stadt und betrachtet einmal die Massen der Geschäfte und deren Inhalt, was wir haben und brauchen und wie selbstverständlich das für uns ist es haben zu müssen.
     
    Betrachtet unsere Einstellung zum Essen. Wir gehen durch die Stadt und stopfen uns alles rein, was wir sehen... mh... lecker Kuchen, Eis, Süßes, Backfisch, Wurst... Ekelhaft ist das...
     
    Schaut euch einmal die Menschen um uns herum an, wie überfressen wir sind.
     
    Hört einmal zu, was wir reden, was unsere Probleme sind.
     
    Und wenn ihr dann einen Eindruck habt von unserem Land und eurer Stadt und der Art wie wir leben, dann lest euch noch einmal meine Berichte durch...
     
    Dann habt ihr eine Vorstellung davon, wie es mir gerade geht...
     
    Möge Allah mir und uns vergeben für die Art, wie wir leben und handeln... Amin
