Der Geizhals
Ein sehr geiziger Mann pflegte sein Gold unter einem Baum in seinem Garten zu verstecken. Jede Woche ging er einmal zu dem Baum, grub das Gold aus und betrachtete es stundenlang. Eines Tages aber fand er nur ein leeres Loch. Der Mann heulte vor Kummer so laut, dass die Nachbarn zusammenliefen, um zu sehen, was geschehen war. Als sie erfuhren, was dem Mann passiert war, fragte einer: "Hast du das Gold denn zu etwas gebraucht?" "Nein," heulte der Geizhals, "ich habe es mir immer nur jede Woche einmal angesehen." "Dann," sagte der Nachbar "wenn du das Geld nicht direkt gebraucht hast, kannst du doch genauso gut jede Woche herkommen und das Loch anschauen."

Syrian Army Continues Operations, Terrorists Eliminated across Country
The Syrian Army launched Monday successful military operations against the armed terrorist groups across the country, eliminating huge numbers of terrorists.
Terrorist groups eliminated in Aleppo
Military operations were carried out against terSyrian Armyrorists in Aleppo provinces, targeting terrorists' gatherings in the villages and towns of al-Mansoura, al-Lairamoun, Maaret Artiq, Atareb, Hreitan, Sosian, Maare', Kafarnaha, Khan al-Asl, Khan Toman, Castello, Handarat, Baedin and al-Sheikh Najjar industrial city.
Terrorists' hideouts were also targeted in the neighborhoods of al-Sekkari, Karm al-Maysar, Bani Zed and al-Sheikh Said in Aleppo city, a military source said.
The source added that an army unit clashed with armed terrorist groups in al-Rashidin al-Aoula, killing many terrorists, injuring others and destroying their vehicles and weapons.
Army eliminates terrorists, destroys their vehicles in Idleb
The army units targeted and destroyed a number of vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in al-Rooj area in Idleb countryside.
A military source told SANA that the army also destroyed a terrorists' hideout in the area, adding that scores of terrorists, including their leader Masaab al-Hamdouni of the Libyan nationality, were killed in the process.
Terrorists' gatherings targeted in Homs countryside
Army units targeted terrorists' gatherings in Taldao, Kisin, Ein Hussein and Wadi al-Mirah to the south of Hessiya in Homs countryside, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others.
Terrorists' gatherings targeted in several areas in Daraa
Army units killed many terrorists and injured others in the area behind Busra Clock in Daraa City, destroying a mortar launcher and a number of cars.
A military source said that army units targeted terrorists' gatherings in the farms to the south of al-Yadouda in Atman town, Dael and Masaken Sajneh in Daraa countryside, killing numbers of the terrorists and destroying their weapons.
Army units inflict heavy losses upon terrorists in Damascus countryside
Units of the army inflicted heavy losses upon the armed terrorist groups and eliminated scores of terrorists, including Saudi and Lebanese terrorists.
SANA reporter said that terrorists from "al-Nusra Front" were killed in al-Mleiha and Kafar Batna and their weapons were destroyed.
In Ein Tarma, a den of an armed terrorist group was destroyed and several terrorists were eliminated, while an army unit eliminated a terrorist group and destroyed its weapons in Douma.
In Harasta, an army unit clashed with an armed terrorist group and eliminated one of its members, while terrorist dens were razed to the ground in Jobar.

Putin Orders Troops Back to Bases after Drills in Regions Bordering Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to send troops back to bases from drills they were having Putinin the southwestern regions of Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk, on the border with Ukraine.
"As the planned spring stage of the drills, which included redeployment of the troops to training areas in Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk regions, has come to an end, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to send troops back to their permanent bases and to go on with their military exercises at training areas nearby," the Kremlin's press service said.
In the same statement, Moscow called on Kiev to cease violence in southeastern Ukraine, immediately.
"Russia calls for the immediate cancellation of the punitive operation and violent actions, on troop withdrawal and finding a peaceful solution to all the problems," the statement reads, adding that President Putin would welcome meetings between the government in Kiev and supporters of federalization.
Sporadic military clashes between Ukrainian troops and self-defense forces have been reported throughout the weekend in the towns of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region – two hotspots of the ongoing military operation conducted by Kiev to suppress anti-government forces there.
"The gunfire is a fabric of daily life now in Slavyansk, but this is the heaviest fighting I've heard in Slavyansk since I got here over a month ago," said freelance journalist Graham Phillips, who is reporting for RT from southeastern Ukraine.
Ukraine's Donetsk and Lugansk regions held referendums on May 11, where the majority of voters supported self-rule. Now the breakaway regions are rejecting the idea of participating in the Ukrainian presidential elections on May 25.
On Sunday, two Russian LifeNews journalists were detained near the town of Kramatorsk, presumably by the Ukrainian military.
News Media Holding, which owns LifeNews, has appealed to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, asking him to help with the release of the journalists. Moscow has condemned the detention and asked the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for assistance in releasing the journalists.

ISIL terrorists threaten on-line to topple PG Arab rulers
Several members of the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist groups called the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have posted a video message on the Internet threatening to topple the rulers of Persian Gulf Arab states, which happen to be the prime source of their arms and funds.
According to a Monday report published in al-Alam's Arabic news website, these ISIL elements, three of whom are natives of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, tore up their passports in front of the camera.
The public threat issued by the three individuals came in reaction to recent laws declared by some Persian Gulf Arab states to block or restrict the return home of armed militants engaged in the insurgency war against the Syrian government.
Syria has been gripped by a foreign-hatched conflict since 2011 that has brought massive destruction to the Arab nation and left an estimated 150,000 people killed and millions displaced across the country.

Saudi closes embassy in Libya, evacuates diplomats
Saudi Arabia closed its embassy and consulate in the Libyan capital and withdrew all of its diplomatic staff on Monday due to security concerns, the ambassador said.
"All the diplomatic staff has left the Libyan capital aboard a private plane due to the security situation through which Libya is passing," ambassador Mohammed Mahmoud al-Ali said in a statement reported on the state news agency SPA.
The government insists it remains in control despite a series of clashes at the weekend, including the parliament building being overrun by militiamen.
Libya's leaders have struggled to bring stability to the country since Muammar Gaddafi was ousted in 2011.
