The headteacher sent a 15-year-old girl home after she felt the long skirt "conspicuously" showed religious affiliation, and so was 'too openly religious' for 'secular' France. In promoting secularism and all that it stands for, these western countries end up with laws that alienate members of their community, leaving muslims to deal with systematic discrimination on a day to day basis. If only people realised secularism is just like a religion... it promotes democracy, the 'freedoms' and has its laws and its preachers, i.e politicians who have a long history of lying, hypocrisy and corruption. By this logic France is no different from the bad guys they paint in the media such as Saudi Arabia who enforce their laws upon its followers, i.e a country where women must wear the hijab and jilbab whilst in public. It's about time these secular laws are seen within the correct light. They are hypocritical laws thats say you are free to dress how you wish, so long as it isn't openly 'religious', you can eat whatever you want until we decide we don't want halal meat in our stores anymore, you can practise freely so long as we don't see you and your mosques and minarets on our streets.
