    ✦English: Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

    ✦Deutsch: Die wahre Frömmigkeit besteht nicht darin, beim Gebet das Gesicht nach Osten oder Westen zu richten, sondern darin, an Gott, den Jüngsten Tag, die Engel, das Heilige Buch und die Propheten zu glauben, gerne Spenden zu geben, um Verwandten, Waisen, Armen, mittellosen Wanderern und Bettlern zu helfen, Leibeigene freizukaufen, das Gebet zu verrichten, die Zakat-Abgaben zu entrichten, Wort zu halten und in Not, Prüfung und gerechtem Krieg geduldig auszuharren. Das sind die Rechtschaffenen, und das sind die Frommen.

    ✦Türkce: Yüzlerinizi bazan dogu, bazan bati tarafina çevirmeniz erginlik degildir. Fakat eren o kimselerdir ki, Allah'a, ahiret gününe, meleklere, kitaba ve bütün peygamberlere iman edip, yakinligi olanlara, öksüzlere, yoksullara, yolda kalmisa, dilenenlere ve esirleri kurtarmaya seve seve mal verirler. Namazi kilarlar, zekati verirler. Bir de andlastiklari zaman sözlerini yerine getirenler, hele sikinti ve hastalik durumlarinda ve harbin siddetli zamaninda sabir ve kararlilik gösterenler var ya, iste dogru olanlar da bunlardir, korunanlar da bunlardir.
