A TRUELY INSPIRING STORY..... Mr. Ajay Verma, suffering from polio since birth, doesn't beg, doesnt depend on his parents (when he fully can), but instead he sells saunf in the Sector 22-C Market in Chandigarh. I saw him, I talked to him. I realised that it takes great effort for him to stand, walk, or talk for that matter. Still he comes from Ambala every afternoon by bus (has a bus pass), stands in the market trying to speak out his product, but only his lips move, that too slowly, he stands in the crowd, getting pushed and disrespected, selling what he came to sell till 9pm, then he sets out for home, when asked, he said, he had gotten used to the hurdles of traveling even in his condition and he reaches home slowly slowly. I wondered, I asked, why through so much everyday? why was he doing what he was doing? He collected his voice and said, he wanted to do something, he didn't wanna sit idle, he wanted to stand up on his feet. He earns Rs.3000 per month and stands proud and smiling. If the world's and your parents' resources are already good enough for us to be freeloaders or not needing for us to work as hard as we can, fine, don't work (hard) for yourself, but at least work for and donate to the ones who work harder than you and deserve a better life, or better yet deserve a chance to have a life to live. A truly inspiring man who to me proved that all the problems we think we have, which don't allow us our happiness are actually just bullshit excuses we keep giving ourselves

Give me just a minute *Leave my paperwork and and go over to see patient who's walked in with what seems to be a mild asthma attack* Me: Yeah, I agree with you. Let's start with 5 of salbutamol and 500 atrovent and I'll pop back in 15 mins. Oh and just keep a Sats probe on her, thanks! *I return to a quiet spot to continue paper work, nurse approaches me* Nurse: Hope you don't mind me asking, you're Muslim right? *a little surprised at the direct question, I've only done a couple shifts with her, she's probably in her mid 50's, red haired, somewhat voluptuous, a sincere smile but a look of weariness in her eyes. I reply in an inquisitive tone.* Me: No worries! Yeah, I am. Why do you ask? Nurse: Oh, I have to say, I really do like you Muslims... *Even more surprised, wouldn't expect a middle aged white English woman to have such a firm, positive opinion given our tabloid media* Me: Why thank you! Why do you say that? Nurse: Oh well, lots of reasons really.... My son has just become a Doctor and he wouldn't have managed without his Muslim friends. Me: Oh really, how's that work? Nurse: Well, the Muslim society at his university organises special revision courses for the medical students. Our boy was really struggling, but he went on their courses and had a lot of support even from Muslim doctors who came back to give their time. Me: Oh wow, yeah I think I know what you're talking about, Imperial College right? They have a special Muslim Medical society I think. That's really fab to hear. Nurse: He wouldn't have made it without you guys, I'm so grateful. He's the first Doctor in the family and inspiring he's his younger siblings too. When I see all the Muslim Doctors on the ward I think the others could take a leaf out of your book. Me: You mean the Qur'an? *chuckle a little* Well it's really touching to hear, God bless. I'm sure he'll make a wonderful doctor with such a wonderful mum ! Nurse: Aww. I'm not a Muslim, but I just had to say thanks to someone. So thank you. Me: No need to thank me, I didn't actually do anything! I'm really touched nonetheless, give my regards to your son! The future under capitalism appears to be anything but bright. The economy functions at high risk with its foundations fluttering away in the literal context. I suppose this is to be expected when the currecncy is paper.
The rich flourish and progress while the poor continue to get poorer , Ahh the prospects of life as a capitalist.... You are taxed from every angle, in every aspect of life! Is it any wonder that we continuously read how those on low incomes are hit the hardest?
One example of how taxation would be completely different under Islam, benefiting the citizens.
Even when the Khilafah does tax, it
is with stringent conditions that are based upon accumulated wealth,
so it does not penalize poor and under-privileged who are unable to
secure their basic needs. This is possible because partly because of
the huge revenue that the state will generate from state owned and
publicly owned enterprises such as energy resources, machinery
and infrastructure manufacture and partly through Islam's unique
revenue laws, which increase distribution of the wealth, rather than
its concentration.

Syrian embassy in Lebanon extended voting in presidential election for one day, due to high turnout.Syrians flock to Syrian embassy in Yarze, Lebanon
"The Syrian embassy in Beirut decided to extend the voting of Syrian elections one additional day," National News agency reported on Wednesday.
Hundreds of Syrian citizens have been flocking to the Syrian embassy in Yarze on Wednesday in a bid to elect a president for their country.
Roads leading to the Syrian embassy in Yarze have been also witnessing a traffic jam, as huge numbers of Syrians are arriving to cast their ballots.

Bahrain System of Injustice: HRW
Bahrain's criminal justice system fails to deliver basic accountability and impartial justice, Human Rights Watch said in a report released Wednesday.
The 64-page report, "Criminalizing Dissent, Entrenching Impunity: Persistent Failures of the Bahraini Justice System Since the BICI Report," slammed the justice system in the Gulf kingdom for sentencing peaceful protesters into long jail terms.Bahrain police
The report found that "more than two years after King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa accepted recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) to free peaceful dissenters and hold abusive officials accountable, Bahrain's courts play a key role in maintaining the country's highly repressive political order, routinely sentencing peaceful protesters to long prison terms," HRW posted on its official website on Wednesday.
However, members of security forces "are rarely prosecuted for unlawful killings, including in detention, and the few convictions have carried extremely light sentences," the report added.
"A police officer in Bahrain who kills a protester in cold blood or beats a detainee to death might face a sentence of six months or maybe two years, while peacefully calling for the country to become a republic will get you life in prison," said Joe Stork, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. "Bahrain's problem is not a dysfunctional justice system, but rather a highly functional injustice system."
The report, based on written verdicts and other court documents, revealed the stark contrast between prosecutions of serious human rights violations by security personnel on the one hand and prosecutions for "crimes" based on speech and peaceful assembly-related activities on the other.
The report also sharply contested UK Foreign Office claims that Bahrain has implemented the Commission of Inquiry's key recommendations and is moving forward on judicial reform.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that Lebanon is the spear head in the fight against terrorism, which has been hitting the region.

"Lebanon is countering terrorism on your behalf," Bassil addressed the non-aligned countries as saying.
"If Lebanon falls in front of terrorism, the concept of not taking side with injustice will also fall, and if Lebanon succeeds, the concept of taking side with peace and justice will prevail," the Lebanese FM added.
Bassil also called on the international community to stop the Israeli violations against Lebanon, as he urged cooperation between the UNIFIL and the Lebanese army in a bid to "counter terrorism which has been threatening all our countries."

Jaafari: UNSC Must Hold Countries Sponsoring Terrorism Accountable
Syria's Permanent Representative to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, called on the United Nations Security Council to hold accountable the states which are supporting terrorism against Syria.Jaafar at UN
In a UNSC session on countering terrorism on Wednesday, al-Jaafari stressed the importance of compelling all member states to refrain from offering any form of support to terrorism pursuant to UNSC resolution No 1373 for the year 2001.
Al-Jaafari noted that Damascus has received no answer for the tens of letters sent to various committees on terrorism in Syria and on the possession of the armed terrorist groups of chemical weapons as well as the involvement of some regional countries in this issue, official news agency, SANA, reported on Thursday.
Al-Jaafari clarified that Syria and tens of other member states such as Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Russia, China, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and others have witnessed brutal terrorist acts since the past six months of the most recent briefing of the three counter terrorism subcommittees' chairpersons.

President Bashar al-Assad stressed that both Syria and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) have been on the same footing, standing against the imperialist plots.President Assad receiving the Korean delegation
As he received a Democratic Korean delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Ryong Nam, president Assad highlighted the need for boosting the historical ties binding Syria and DPRK as both countries have been for years undergoing all forms of siege and pressure, official news agency reported on Thursday.
The Syrian leader said both countries have been on the same footing, refusing to bow to pressures, rejecting subordination, sticking to sovereignty and independent decision and standing against the imperialist plots targeting the interests and capabilities of the peoples in their two regions.
The meeting tackled the common desire to build on and develop the solid friendship relations between Syria and Democratic Korea, SANA reported.
For his part, the North Korean minister affirmed that his country will continue to stand by the Syrian people in the face of the unjust war waged against them.
He hailed the Syrian people, saying they are able to achieve victory and rebuild a free prosperous Syria.

Maliki: Elimination of Terrorists in Anbar Won't Require Long Time
MalikiThe Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced that the army's campaign in Anbar will not be in need of a long time, stressing that the coming Holy month of Ramadan will witness restoring security in the restive province.
The Iraqi leader also said that the local tribes are cooperating with the army to face ISIL terrorists, adding that crisis of the displaced will be ended soon.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi province of Anbar has been witnessing military clashes between the army and the terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) which has committed numerous crimes against the Iraqi military and citizens.
