    The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) has issued a disappointing press release in response to the article "Muslim community 'too lax' on jihad risk" published in the Australian on 29/5/14 , where the head of the NSW Counter Terrorism Squad, Assistant Commissioner Peter Dein, criticised senior members of the Muslim community for not doing enough to discourage young Muslims from getting involved in supporting the defenseless in Syria.

    The press release reaffirms ANIC's involvement in the government's targeting of Islam and the Muslim community, where ANIC described the Muslim community as becoming "a core element of counter‐terrorism policing". It is as though ANIC has willingly become the government's deputy sheriff and the compliant leadership that the government uses to legitimise the intervention in the Muslim community. It shows that no matter how much one is willing to co-operate, it is never enough for those that seek to stop the rise of Islam.

    "Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you till you follow their way. Say: "Verily, the guidance of Allah that is the (only) guidance. And if you were to follow their desires after what you have received of Knowledge , then you would have against Allah neither any Wali nor any helper." [2:120]

    أولاً : أن الجهاد مستمر والثورة ماضية حتى تحقيق أهدافها ، وليس هناك من خيار سوى الاستمرار في هذا الدرب ، وهذه النتيجة هي المتوقعة ، وخلافها هو المستبعد ، الذي لم يفكر فيه أحدٌ من الشعب أصلاً . ...
    ثانياً : أن سوءة العالم قد انكشفت للقاصي والدّاني منذ زمن ، وزادها وضوحاً سماحهم له بإجراء هذه الانتخابات تحت القصف وشلالات الدم ، فلا ينبغي أن نعوِّل عليهم في أي عون أو مساعدة وادعاء بدعم الديمقراطيات وغيرها من الاداعاءات الكاذبة . ...
