    In the west they say death is an awkward uncomfortable topic to converse about, the belief that one day we will inevitably die is too consequential for some. Believing it means accepting we have a short time on this earth, and that means having to reflect on your purpose.

    Die Ereignisse im Irak sind auch die Folge der Nichtintervention in den syrischen Bürgerkrieg auf Seiten der säkularen Rebellen. Weil ISIS dort in keinster Weise unter Druck gesetzt wird – Assad bombardiert ausschließlich Zivilisten und den Rebellen fehlen schlicht die Mittel – konnten sich die Djihadisten dort konsolidieren und zu einer schlagkräftigen Miliz entwickeln. Dass das eroberte Gerät im Irak nun auf schnellstem Wege nach Syrien geschafft wird, macht deutlich, dass ISIS in Syrien nichts zu befürchten hat. Spätestens jetzt sollte klar sein, dass ohne eine Intervention in Syrien zugunsten der demokratischen Kräfte, und seien es nur endlich Flugabwehrwaffen, das Land als nächstes den Banden islamistischen Faschismus zum Opfer fallen werden. Wenn man schon nicht gewillt ist, selber den Kampf aufzunehmen, dann sollte man zumindest denen die Mittel an die Hand geben, die es schon aus purer Notwendigkeit machen müssen
