Sebut saja nama anak itu adalah Putri. Putri kesal karena ibunya dianggap tidak pernah mengerti apa maunya. Pertengkaran itu membuat Putri nekat meninggalkan rumah dan tidak membawa apa-apa kecuali telepon genggam miliknya. Saat hari makin malam, Putri sadar kalau dia belum makan malam. Perutnya sudah mulai lapar dan perih, namun dia tidak membawa uang sepeserpun dan tidak membawa kartu ATM yang ada di dompetnya. Saat sedang duduk dipinggir jalan raya, ada seorang ibu yang menepuk pundaknya. Ibu itu adalah pedagang soto ayam di pinggir jalan. "Nak, wajahmu pucat, apa kamu belum makan?" tanya sang ibu penjual soto. Putri tersenyum tipis dan menggelengkan kepalanya." Kalau begitu masuklah ke kedai saya, dan makanlah," "Saya tidak punya uang, bu," ujar Putri. Sang ibu penjual soto tersenyum dan meminta Putri tetap masuk ke dalam kedai makannya yang sederhana. Ibu itu bilang tidak perlu membayar karena Putri mengingatkannya pada anak perempuan si ibu yang sedang kuliah di luar kota. Putri menurut dan masuk kedalam kedai soto. Dia mendapat semangkuk soto ayam lengkap dengan nasinya. Putri langsung terharu dan bersyukur karena dia bertemu dengan ibu yang sangat baik dan mau memberinya makan gratis. Soto itu langsung dimakan dengan hati gembira. Putri berpikir betapa baik ibu ini, lebih baik dibanding ibunya." Terima kasih, bu. Saya sudah kenyang," ujar Putri ketika sotonya sudah habis. "Ibu baik sekali, berbeda dengan ibu saya. Tadi saya bertengkar dengannya dan memutuskan pergi dari rumah," lanjut Putri. Sang ibu penjual soto tersenyum. "Ibu baik sekali, padahal ibu adalah orang asing yang tidak kenal dengan saya, tetapi ibu memberikan makan malam gratis untuk saya, "Penjual soto itu langsung duduk di depan Putri, wajahnya teduh dan senyumnya sangat bijaksana. "Jadi menurutmu, ibu baik karena memberi satu mangkuk soto gratis ini?" tanya si ibu. Putri mengangguk. "Apa kah kamu pernah menghitung berapa mangkuk makanan gratis yang sudah diberikan ibumu setiap hari? "tanya sang ibu penjual soto. Putri tersentak mendengar pertanyaan itu."Anakku, kamu tersentuh dengan kebaikan ibu, tapi ibu yakin, ibumu jauh lebih baik dibanding ibu.Pernahkah kamu hitung berapa malam yang dia habiskan untuk menahan sakit saat mengandungmu, saat mengganti popokmu, saat kamu haus minta ASI, saat kamu sakit? Ibumu yang melakukan semua itu, bukan ibu, ibu hanya memberi semangkuk soto, tidak ada apa-apanya dibanding apa yang sudah ibumu berikan untukmu,""Kalau sekarang kamu merasa kesal dengan ibumu, karena saling salah paham, karena tidak saling mengerti keinginan masing -masing, cobalah untuk berbicara lebih baik dengannya. Sebut saja nama anak itu adalah Putri. Putri kesal karena ibunya dianggap tidak pernah mengerti apa maunya. Pertengkaran itu membuat Putri nekat meninggalkan rumah dan tidak membawa apa-apa kecuali telepon genggam miliknya. Saat hari makin malam, Putri sadar kalau dia belum makan malam. Perutnya sudah mulai lapar dan perih, namun dia tidak membawa uang sepeserpun dan tidak membawa kartu ATM yang ada di dompetnya. Saat sedang duduk dipinggir jalan raya, ada seorang ibu yang menepuk pundaknya. Ibu itu adalah pedagang soto ayam di pinggir jalan. "Nak, wajahmu pucat, apa kamu belum makan?" tanya sang ibu penjual soto. Putri tersenyum tipis dan menggelengkan kepalanya." Kalau begitu masuklah ke kedai saya, dan makanlah," "Saya tidak punya uang, bu," ujar Putri. Sang ibu penjual soto tersenyum dan meminta Putri tetap masuk ke dalam kedai makannya yang sederhana. Ibu itu bilang tidak perlu membayar karena Putri mengingatkannya pada anak perempuan si ibu yang sedang kuliah di luar kota. Putri menurut dan masuk kedalam kedai soto. Dia mendapat semangkuk soto ayam lengkap dengan nasinya. Putri langsung terharu dan bersyukur karena dia bertemu dengan ibu yang sangat baik dan mau memberinya makan gratis. Soto itu langsung dimakan dengan hati gembira. Putri berpikir betapa baik ibu ini, lebih baik dibanding ibunya." Terima kasih, bu. Saya sudah kenyang," ujar Putri ketika sotonya sudah habis. "Ibu baik sekali, berbeda dengan ibu saya. Tadi saya bertengkar dengannya dan memutuskan pergi dari rumah," lanjut Putri. Sang ibu penjual soto tersenyum. "Ibu baik sekali, padahal ibu adalah orang asing yang tidak kenal dengan saya, tetapi ibu memberikan makan malam gratis untuk saya, "Penjual soto itu langsung duduk di depan Putri, wajahnya teduh dan senyumnya sangat bijaksana. "Jadi menurutmu, ibu baik karena memberi satu mangkuk soto gratis ini?" tanya si ibu. Putri mengangguk. "Apa kah kamu pernah menghitung berapa mangkuk makanan gratis yang sudah diberikan ibumu setiap hari? "tanya sang ibu penjual soto. Putri tersentak mendengar pertanyaan itu."Anakku, kamu tersentuh dengan kebaikan ibu, tapi ibu yakin, ibumu jauh lebih baik dibanding ibu.Pernahkah kamu hitung berapa malam yang dia habiskan untuk menahan sakit saat mengandungmu, saat mengganti popokmu, saat kamu haus minta ASI, saat kamu sakit? Ibumu yang melakukan semua itu, bukan ibu, ibu hanya memberi semangkuk soto, tidak ada apa-apanya dibanding apa yang sudah ibumu berikan untukmu,""Kalau sekarang kamu merasa kesal dengan ibumu, karena saling salah paham, karena tidak saling mengerti keinginan masing -masing, cobalah untuk berbicara lebih baik dengannya. Saat kamu tumbuh dewasa, ibumu semakin bertambah tua. Kamu yang seharusnya makin banyak mendengarkan dan memahaminya,""Soto ini memang pemberian ibu, tapi ibu yakin, soto ini adalah doa ibumu yang terkabul, agar kamu tidak kelaparan malam ini," ujar sang ibu penjual soto sambil tersenyum . Tapi di balik itu semua, seorang ibu selalu memberi yang terbaik untuk anaknya dan mendahulukan doa untuk anaknya.
