Die Rechtsgelehrten geben folgende Gründe dafür an, warum der Prophet (Friede und Heil auf ihm) im Monat Schabaan so viel fastete: 1.Er holte im Monat Schabaan sein freiwilliges Fasten nach, welches er in vorherigen Monat nicht gefastet hat, z.B. wegen Reisen. 2.Die Frauen des Propheten (Friede und Heil auf ihm) fasteten im Schabaan ihre versäumten Ramadantage nach, deshalb fastete der Prophet diese Tage dann auch. 3.Das Fasten im Monat Scha'ban ist besser als das Fasten in den Haram-Monaten: Imam Ibn Rajab sagte: „Das Fasten im Schabaan ist besser als das Fasten in den Haram Monaten und das beste freiwillige Fasten ist das, was dem Monat Ramadan am nahesten ist, vorher oder nachher. Der Status von diesem freiwilligen Fasten ist wie der, der „Al-Sunan al-Rauaatib" (freiwillige Gebete vor und nach den Pflichtgebeten). So ist das auch mit dem Fasten vor und nach Ramadan. Dieses Fasten ist besser als ein Fasten in irgendeinem anderen Monat." 4.Es ist ein Monat, dem die Menschen keine Beachtung schenken, da er zwischen dem heiligen Monat Rajab und dem segenbringenden Ramadan liegt. Und das ist die korrekteste Meinung. Der Hadith von Usama Ibn Zaid bestätigt diese Aussage: Usama Ibn Zaid berichtete (ALLAHs Wohlgefallen mit ihm): "Ich sagte: »O Gesandter Allahs, ich habe dich in keinem Monat so oft fasten sehen wie du dies im Monat Scha'ban tust!« Er sagte: Das ist ein Monat, an dem die Menschen achtlos vorbeigehen; er liegt zwischen Rajab und Ramadan und ist der Monat, in dem die (guten) Taten zum Herrn der Welten emporgehoben werden, und ich habe es gern, dass meine Taten emporgehoben werden, während ich faste." (Ahmad, al-Nasa'i) Das Fasten im Monat Scha´ban ist auch eine Art Training zum Monat Ramadan, damit man sich an das Fasten gewöhnt und es einem leichter fällt. Und wenn du noch Fastentage nach zu holen hast, dann ist es jetzt höchste Zeit das jetzt zu tun.
