Zusammen mit Ismet Inönü und Emanuel Karasso, nahm er an den Verhandlungen von Lausanne in der Schweiz teil. Emanuel Karasso war laut Theodor Herzl, der Drahtzieher, bei der Gründung Israels und gehörte der Gruppe "İttihâd Vee Terakki (Komitee für Einheit und Fortschritt)" an, welche auch Sultân Abdulhamîd II stürtzten. Interessant ist es auch, dass Celâl Bayar selber Freimaurer 33. Grades war. Er gab sich bis zur Gründung der türkischen Republik als religiöser Muslim aus. Zu dieser Zeit war er bekannt als Gâlib hoca.
