Of the 17,000 reported cases of sexual offences involving children under 16. Just 4,000 went to trial last year according to the CPS! Firstly these children have been failed by the justice system in which they are obliged to protect vulnerable children. But also secondly the system has also failed these children due to the very basis it is established upon. What do I mean by this? We live within a secular democracy that establishes itself on the principle that sovereignty belongs to man and he has the right to establish laws on the basis that secures man's freedom to practice his beliefs, expressions, choices and desires. Is this not the root cause as to why Britain is battling with rape, domestic violence and paedophilia? Is it not time that secular/liberalism was put on trial for being the cause of allowing corruption to spread! Of course in no way am I saying that it's legal in Britain for such heinous acts of abuse to take place. It's not. Boundaries must be set even in a country that is established on secularism and promotes individual freedom. Rules are established to ensure one man does not impinge on another mans (child, male and female) freedom and rights. However one must ask – is giving individual freedoms within legislative boundaries really working ? Obviously not as these predators know it's against the law but still continue to persist with such animalistic behaviour. WHY? Detaching God from life as the basis of any constitution is the 1st biggest mistake as it takes the very essence of accountability away from man and leaves him to fear no one. Secondly freedom being the value system of any nations constitution allows the boundaries of what you desire to become broader, because soon the things that are lawful (fornication with a consenting adult) under secular liberalism just isn't enough for the sick insatiable desires that play god and hence he pushes his boundaries to the unlawful acts and hence begins to dismiss those boundaries. So it's not just enough addressing the justice system but really it's about looking at an alternative political system that regulates man's actions and behaviour according to a spiritual basis. This why as muslims we call for the Islamic khilafah system in the muslim lands (who too are suffering from similar problems). It is a system which will regulate what man can and can't do according to the Quran and Sunnah and not their freedom or desires.
