Er ist der fünfte Sohn von Sultân Abdulazîz [Rahimahullâh] und der Cousin von Sultân Abdulhamîd II [Rahimahullâh]. Mehmed Seyfuddîn Efendi (Seyfuddîn bin Abdulazîz) wurde im jungen Alter zum Waisen. Deswegen wurde er von seinem Cousin Sultân Abdulhamîd II [Rahimahullâh] großgezogen. Nach der Abschaffung des Sultanas im Jahr 1924, musste er das Land verlassen und starb drei Jahre später im französischen Exil. Sein Grab befindet sich neben der Sulaymaniya-Moschee in Damaskus (Syrien).
