A short reminder and leaflet on Islam's teachings on racism was then given with an invitation for them to speak for longer if they wished.The aim of these campaigns is for Muslims to address some of the evils in our society, and show people the strong Islamic alternative, not necessarily just so they accept Islam, (though there was one Shahadah) but also so they go away with a better perception of Islamic teachings and pass this message onto others.As the brothers reminded us in the training session, if we as Muslims do not address some of these social ills, as the Prophet Muhammad (saw) did, then it allows the media and others who have no love for Islam to misinform the public on our behalf.This style of Dawah has been pushed by groups like Myriad Foundation in Manchester, may Allaah swt reward them as it really works well and glad to see it coming to Leicester.I was very impressed with the training given by IERA and this slightly different methodology of giving Dawah.
