Every time I light up a candle I remember that day when I was about 9 years old, about 13 years ago, and we had a final exam at school, it was a rainy winter day, the sky was gray and it was almost dark even though it was about 8 am. We were sitting on our desks having the exam, when suddenly the electricity went off, it became even darker that we couldn't even read the questions, we were supposed to have the exam on another day, but then the school principal found a solution! She put a candle on every desk and lighted it up so that we could read the questions and try to answer. I still remember the smell of melted candles on our desks, and how I stopped answering and started to watch my candle melt, no words would explain the feeling I had as a child living under occupation and enduring the hardships of everyday life, then finding something amusing among all these sufferings. That day, if the electricity didn't go off, I wouldn't have been able to write about a random exam day now, and candles wouldn't have meant something to me... Small details make the best memories in our lives... Thanks to the school principal who refused to allow the daily hardships caused by the occupation to affect us, thanks to my class and the smell that takes me back there every time a candle melts ...

I'm going to be very honest about my opinion on the amount of ambulance convoys go to Syria. From the UK we have sent hundreds of ambulances over. I see people getting passionate about raising and giving funds for these convoys. But I mean, do they really need all these ambulances? Is driving an ambulance right across Europe, which alhamdulilah, I have done, and then into Asia the most efficient way of getting them there? I have to be brutally honest in my opinion. You have to consider the cost of insurance, MOT, Road Tax, road toll, ferry & diesel. On top of that, there are further costs involved with sending someone to drive it there. Their food, accommodation and flights back home. It costs over £2000 just to get an ambulance there by driving it. So financially, is it worth it? I am very tempted to say no. However, imagine a world where you did not have all these convoys. How much coverage will the plight of the Syrian attract? How many stories of orphan children will we hear about? Will we learn about the difficulties that the refugees face in Atma camp? Then how much funding would they have received from the people of the UK? It lets the people of Syria know that they have not been forgotten. That they are not alone. Yes, sending an ambulance by road maybe not the most efficient way to get it there, but it's what the ambulance carries. It's attention that it draws. The encouragement for people to donate. The fact that our FB news feeds keep the issue alive. As a result, we are continuously holding events for the people of Syria. Finally, by keeping the issue of Syria alive, it allows us, the UK public, to challenge the our Governments changing policies towards Syria. It allows us to question why is the media criminalising our heros, who have left the UK and gave up their lives for the freedom of the Syrian people. It allows us to question the Police and Secret Services over the harassment that they deal out to those who return from Syria. And it exposes the hypocrisy of this Government when it revokes citizenship of some who go there and arrest the highly respected Free Moazzam Begg. So, is it worth sending these convoys? I believe so. #Syria3

Hiermit laden wir dich herzlich zu unserer geplanten Open Air Veranstaltung am 23.03.2014 ab 14:00 Uhr nach Mannheim ein.
Anlass dieser Veranstaltung ist die Festnahme unseres Bruders Sven Lau (Abu Adam). Wir möchten an diesem Tag über die Festnahme und Hintergründe sprechen, sowie über das Thema Gewalt im Islam.

ACHTUNG! Wir empfehlen eine rechtzeitige Anreise, da es vor Ort nur sehr wenige Parkmöglichkeiten gibt, müsst ihr in den umliegenden Parkhäusern parken. Desweiteren wird der Platz vermutlich weiträumig abgerrigelt und es dauert seine Zeit bist du unsere Bühne erreichst.
Es haben sich über 10 verschiedene Prediger gemeldet die an diesem Tag vor Ort sein wollen um einige Worte an euch zu richten. Lass dir diese Einmalige Begegnung nicht entgehen.
Wir haben extra den Sonntag gewählt, damit auch möglichst viele Geschwister die Möglichkeit haben vor Ort zu sein.

#Prohibitions That Are Taken Too Lightly
Consuming riba (usury or interest) :
In the Qur'an, #Allah does not declare war on anyone except the people who deal in riba (interpretation of the meaning):
"O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah and give up what remains (due to you) of riba (from now onward), if you are (really) believers. And if you do not do it, then take a message of war from Allah and His Messenger." [al-Baqarah 2:278-279]
This is sufficient to explain the abhorrence of this deed in the sight of Allah, may He be glorified.
One may easily discern the extent of devastation, at the individual and the international level, caused by dealing with riba - such as bankruptcy, recession, economic stagnation, inability to repay loans, high unemployment, collapse of many companies and institutions, etc. Daily toil has become a never-ending struggle to pay off interest on loans and societies have become class-ridden structures in which huge wealth in concentrated in the hands of a few. Perhaps all this is a manifestation of the war threatened by Allah to those who deal in riba.
Everyone who has something to do with riba, whether he is one of the main parties involved or is a middleman or facilitator, has been cursed by Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed "the one who consumes riba, the one who gives it to others, the one who writes it down and the one who witnesses it." He said: "They are all the same."
(Reported by Muslim, 3/1219).
Based on this, it is not permitted to do work that involves writing interest-based contracts and conditions, paying or receiving riba, depositing it or guarding it. Generally speaking, it is haraam to be directly or indirectly involved with riba in any way, shape or form.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keen to explain the ugliness of this major sin. 'Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are seventy-three types of riba, the least of which is as abhorrent as a man having intercourse with his own mother and worst of which is [violating] a Muslim's honor and sanctity.
(Reported by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, 2/37); see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 3533).
'Abdullah ibn Hanzalah (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Knowingly consuming a dirham of riba is worse for a man than committing adultery thirty-six times."
(Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 5/225; see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 3375).
The prohibition on riba does not just apply to deals between rich and poor, as some people think; it is a general prohibition that applies to every person and every situation. How many rich people and big businessmen have gone bankrupt because of riba! The least harm riba does is to destroy the blessing (barakah) of the money, even if a person's wealth is great. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Even if riba is much, it will end up being a small amount."
(Reported by al-Haakim, 2/37; see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 3542).
This does not refer to whether the ratio of interest is high or low; all riba is haraam, and the one who deals with it will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection like the one who stands beaten by Shaytaan resulting in insanity and epilepsy.
In spite of the enormity of this sin, Allah has told us to repent from it and has explained how. Allah says to those who deal in riba (interpretation of the meaning):
". . . but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums)." [al-Baqarah 2:279]
This is quintessential justice.
The believer must despise this major sin and feel its abhorrence, even if he puts his money in interest-based banks because he has no other choice and is afraid that his money may be lost or stolen otherwise. He should feel that he is being compelled by necessity to do this, like one who eats dead meat, or worse. At the same time, he should seek the forgiveness of Allah and try to find an alternative if he can. He is not permitted to ask the bank for interest, and if the bank deposits it in his account, he must get rid of it in whatever way is permissible.
This money cannot be counted as sadaqah (charity), because Allah is pure and accepts only that which is pure. He cannot benefit from this money by using it to by food, drink, clothing, transportation or housing; he cannot use it to fulfil obligations such as spending on his wife, child or parents, or to pay zakaat or taxes, or to defend himself in court. Rather, he should just get rid of it, for fear of the wrath of Allah.

As Salamu Aleikum.
Hiermit laden wir dich herzlich zu unserer geplanten Open Air Veranstaltung am 23.03.2014 ab 14:00 Uhr nach Mannheim ein.
Anlass dieser Veranstaltung ist die Festnahme unseres Bruders Sven Lau (Abu Adam). Wir möchten an diesem Tag über die Festnahme und Hintergründe sprechen, sowie über das Thema Gewalt im Islam.
Kurpfaltzstrasse (Marktplatz) 68159 Mannheimab 14:00 Uhr
ACHTUNG! Wir empfehlen eine rechtzeitige Anreise, da es vor Ort nur sehr wenige Parkmöglichkeiten gibt, müsst ihr in den umliegenden Parkhäusern parken. Desweiteren wird der Platz vermutlich weiträumig abgerrigelt und es dauert seine Zeit bist du unsere Bühne erreichst.
Es haben sich über 10 verschiedene Prediger gemeldet die an diesem Tag vor Ort sein wollen um einige Worte an euch zu richten. Lass dir diese Einmalige Begegnung nicht entgehen.
Wir haben extra den Sonntag gewählt, damit auch möglichst viele Geschwister die Möglichkeit haben vor Ort zu sein.
Die genaue Adresse wird wie immer erst kurz vorher bekanntgegeben, aber es wird in der Innenstadt von Mannheim sein. (Inschallah)

Kopftuch im Judentum
In letzter Zeit häufen sich im zionistischen Apartheidsstaat Israel die Angriffe auf Muslimas, die als solche durch ihr Kopftuch zu erkennen sind. Um solchen Übergriffen aggressiver Zionisten zu entgehen, tragen viele Muslimas das Kopftuch inzwischen in der Art, wie dies die orthodoxen jüdischen Frauen tun. Dann werden sie auch von israelischen Patroullien problemlos durchgewunken. Denn auch die religiöse jüdische Frau ist angehalten, ihr Haupt zu bedecken, nur wird das in den westlichen Medien nicht thematisiert.
Jüdische Frauen müssen auch ihre Arme bis zum Handgelenk bedecken, dürfen kein Dekolleté zeigen und sind angehalten, Röcke bis zum Boden zu tragen. Von einer Unterdrückung jüdischer Frauen durch ihre Religion ist in westlichen Medien allerdings nie die Rede. Warum wohl? Jede kritische Äußerung über das Judentum ist hierzulande ein Minenfeld, in dem Journalisten leicht ihren Job verlieren könnten. Einmal als antisemitisch gebrandmarkt kommt einem Berufsverbot für immer gleich. Und deshalb sind die Journalisten hier meistens zu feige. Dann schon lieber auf Muslime eindreschen, die haben wenigstens keine Lobby. (MF)
