Mutter der Gläubigen, war die Tochter von Al-Harith, dem Stammesoberhaupt der Banu Al-Mustaliq; sie war mit Ibn Safwan verheiratet. Sie war eine der vielen Gefangenen, die in die Hände der Muslime nach einer Schlacht fiel, und sie wurde Thabit Ibn Qais (r) übergeben. Er bot an, sie für ein Lösegeld in Höhe von 360 Dirham freizulassen. Sie kam zum Propheten, Allahs Segen und Friede auf ihm, und sagte: "O Gesandter Allahs! Ich bin die Tochter von Al-Harith. Du kennst meine Geschichte. Das verlangte Lösegeld von Thabit ist zu hoch für mich. Ich bin gekommen, um dich um Hilfe zu bitten." Der Prophet, Allahs Segen und Friede auf ihm, bot an, ihr Lösegeld zu bezahlen, sie freizulassen, und er bot ihr auch an, sie als seine Frau zu nehmen. Sie nahm dieses Angebot glücklich an. Sie heiratete den Propheten im Jahre 5 n.H. Als eine Folge dieser Heirat wurden alle Gefangenen ihres Stammes, etwa 100 Familien, von den Muslimen freigelassen. "Der Stamm, der so durch die verwandtschaftlichen Beziehungen mit dem Propheten geehrt wurde," sagten sie, "sollte nicht in Sklaverei verbleiben." Dschuwairiya war sehr hübsch. Ihr Gesicht war sehr attraktiv. Drei Tage, bevor sie in der Schlacht gefangengenommen wurde, hatte sie im Traum den Mond von Al-Madina kommen und in ihren Schoß fallen sehen. Sie sagte: "Als ich gefangengenommen wurde, hoffte ich, daß mein Traum Wirklichkeit würde." Sie war 20 Jahre zur Zeit ihrer Heirat mit dem Propheten, Allahs Segen und Friede auf ihm. Sie starb im Jahre 627 (50 n.H.) in Al-Madina im Alter von 45 Jahren. Denn Allah ta la liebt seine Diener, die sich einander seinetwegen Lieben Mu'adh (r) überliefert, dass er den Gesandten Allahs (s) sagen hörte: Allah, der Erhabene, sagt: "Jenen, die aus Furcht vor Meiner Erhabenheit einander lieben, sind (im Paradies) hohe Sitze aus Licht bereitet, dass (selbst) Propheten und Märtyrer sie beneiden könnten."
