Allah Ta'ala sagte: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالأَنصَابُ وَالأَزْلاَمُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ "O die ihr glaubt! Wein und Glücksspiel und Götzenbilder und Lospfeile sind ein Greuel, ein Werk Satans. So meidet sie allesamt, auf daß ihr Erfolg habt." [5:90] In einem von Imam Muslim überlieferten Hadith sagte der Gesandte Allahs صلى الله عليه وسلم: "Allah Ta'ala hat ein Versprechen zu diejenigen die Berauschendes trinken gegeben, dass Er ihnen von dem Tinat al-Khabaal zu trinken geben wird." Jemand fragte: "Was ist das Tinat al-Khabaal?" Der Gesandte Allahs صلى الله عليه وسلم antwortete:"Es ist der Schweiß der Bewohner des Höllenfeuers." Wenn Allah auf diese Weise über diejenigen die solche verbotene Getränke trinken fühlt, dann ist es einfach unrealistisch zu denken, dass der gleiche Herr einer Nation, welche Alkohol trinkt, dessen Verkauf in ihrer Mitte erlaubt und daraus auch noch Profit schlagen will, Ehre geben wird. In einem anderen Hadith wird berichtet: "Der Gesandte Allahs صلى الله عليه وسلم verfluchte zehn mit Wein verknüpfte Leute: den Weinmacher, denjenigen der ihn machen lässt, denjenigen der ihn trinkt, denjenigen der ihn trägt, denjenigen zu dem er getragen wird, denjenigen der ihn serviert, denjenigen der ihn verkauft, denjenigen der durch ihn Profit macht, denjenigen der ihn kauft und denjenigen für den er gekauft wird."
