Wolfgang Nešković, ehemaliger Bundesrichter und Herausgeber der deutschsprachigen Ausgabe des CIA-Folterreports, äusserte sich entsprechend: „Dieser Beschluss zeigt, dass die Regierungsfraktionen den politischen Konflikt mit den USA scheuen. Die Ablehnung des Antrages durch die Regierungsfraktionen beweist, dass die parteiübergreifende Verurteilung der Folterpraxis der CIA in der Aktuellen Stunde am 17. Dezember im Bundestag nur leeres Geschwätz war. Darüber hinaus nährt das Verhalten der Regierungsfraktionen den Verdacht, dass der ungeschwärzte, vollständige Bericht Belege über mögliche Beteiligungen deutscher Sicherheitsbehörden beinhalten könne. Der Hinweis, dass schon der Generalbundesanwalt den vollständigen Bericht angefordert hat, ist offenkundig vorgeschoben. Es liegt auf der Hand, dass die Anforderung des Berichts durch das Parlament ein qualitativ anderes politisches Gewicht hat als die Anforderung durch den Generalbundesanwalt." Der CIA-Folterbericht liegt seit Mitte Januar in deutscher Übersetzung vor. Was man dort lesen kann, ist unvorstellbar, brutal und grauenhaft. Auf fast 650 Seiten werden alle angewendeten Folterpraktiken und wie sie am lebenden Objekt ausprobiert wurden beschrieben. Nichts für schwache Nerven. Der Bericht ist der gedruckte Beweis für unzählige Verstöße gegen nationales und internationales Recht (etwa gegen die UN-Antifolterkonvention) durch die US-Geheimdienste. Das die Bundesregierung kein Interesse an ungeschwärzten CIA-Folterakten hat legt den Verdacht nahe, dass sie viel tiefer mit in die Folter-Verbrechen verstrickt ist als bekannt. Was an CIA Unterstützung wurde über Jahre vom BND geleistet? Wer hat Angst vor der ganzen Wahrheit?
