Imam Abu Hanifa (gest. 150 n.H.) sagt in seinem Buch Kitab al-Wassiya auf der Seite 81 folgendes:
"Wir bestätigen, dass Allah ta'ala istawa' machte, ohne dass es eine Erforderlichkeit oder Sesshaftigkeit (istiqrar) für Ihn selbst ist. Er ist der Hüter des Throns und auch von allem anderen als dem Thron, ohne irgendeinen Bedarf [für Ihn selbst ]. Wenn Er [jemals] bedürftig [davon] wäre, dann wäre Er nicht dazu in der Lage gewesen die Welt zum existieren zu bringen oder sie zu vernichten, so wie die zwei Schöpfungen [dazu nicht im Stande sind]. Wenn Er [jemals] des Sitzens (julus) und des Sesshaftwerdens (qarar) [auf dem Thron] bedürftig wäre, wo war Allah ta'ala dann vor der Erschaffung des Thrones? Möge Allah erhaben darüber sein, hoch und groß ist er!"
