    "The Prophet (ﷺ) participated in foot races, wrestled and sew his shoes and Thoub with his own hands. He also mended his bucket of water, milked his sheep, patched his Thaub, served himself and his family and carried mud bricks when the Masjid was being built."

    How many times can we mention the virtues of a single man before we recognize his status? How about when the best of creation, Allah's Messenger bestows the honour of calling such a man his dear and beloved Brother and Friend. Will we then accept the status of such a man?

    Allah says in the Quran: If you will not aid him, Allah certainly aided him when those who disbelieved expelled him, he being the second of the two, when they were both in the cave, when he said to his companion: Grieve not, surely Allah is with us. So Allah sent down His tranquility upon him and strengthened him with hosts which you did not see, and made lowest the word of those who disbelieved; and the word of Allah, that is the highest; and Allah is Mighty, Wise. (9:40)

    Anas narrated that Sayyidina Abubakr RA told him: I saw the feet of the unbelievers over our heads while we were in the cave. I said: "O Allah's Prophet! If any of them look down, he will see us beneath the feet." The Prophet "Allah's blessing and peace be upon him" said: "O Abu Bakr! What do you think of the two persons, of whom Allah is the Third?"

    Sahih Muslim: Volume 4 Page No. 226 Hadith No 2381

    Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah unanimously agree that this ayah has unquestionable and undeniable merit of Sayyidina Abubakr RA! as it was he who was chosen to participate in the journey with the Prophet Muhammad SAWS on the Hijrah from Makkah to Medina.

    Who else but a true Companion, a true friend, a true confidant, a true Mu'min of indeniable faith, a true lover of Allah and Islam could be chosen to accompany the best of creation on such an important Journey? Who else but Abubakr RA!!!

    It is none other than Muhammad SAWS who clarifies this in the following Hadith:

    Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri RA "Allah's Messenger SAWS addressed the people saying, Allah gave a choice to one of (His) slaves to choose this world or what is with Him. The slave chose what is with Allah." Abu Bakr RA wept, and we were astonished at his weeping caused by what the Prophet SAWS mentioned as to a slave (of Allah) who had been offered a choice, (we learned later on) that Allah's Messenger SAWS himself was the person who was given the choice, and that Abu Bakr RA knew more than us. Allah's Messenger SAWS added Abu Bakr RA has favoured me much with his company and property (wealth) more than anybody else. If I were to take a Khalil other than my Lord, I would have taken Abu Bakr RA, but the Islamic brotherhood and friendship is sufficient. Close all the gates in the mosque except the gate of Abu Bakr RA"

    The Question that must be asked is, If Allah refers to Sayyidina Abubakr RA by the title Companion in the Quran and the Prophet SAWS refers to him as a brother and friend, does Allah and Allah's Prophet SAWS change their mind afterwards? Wa naudhubillah!
