    The word Rafidah means "rejecter", the Rawafidh have obtained their name by their rejection of Zayd ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hussayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, the great grandson of 'Ali (as).

    'Eesaa bin Yoonus said: The Raafidah came to Zayd and said to him, "Free yourself from Abu Bakr and 'Umar so that we can aid you."

    He replied, "Rather I will give allegiance to them (i.e. Abu Bakr and 'Umar)." They said, "Then we reject you." So then it was said to them, "ar-Raafidah" (the rejecters)."

    يستمر القصف العنيف على الزبداني من أكثر من عشرين نقطة عسكرية تتمركز فيها آليات النظام الثقيلة من مدفعية ودبابات وهاون وقد أصيب يوم أمس أكثر من ثمانية إصابات واستشهد نتيجة القصف الشابين عمر وقاسم ابو شالة
    وما تزال المدينة تتعرض للقصف اليومي من كافة الحواجز كما تتعرض للحصار الخانق على المواد الغذائية والأدوية الطبية تطبيقاً لسياسة الجوع أو الركوع

    This week at the dawah stall in Birmingham sisters discussed the month of Rabi al awal and the need to reconnect to the message & mission of our Prophet Muhammed (saw).
    As Muslims seek to celebrate the life of Prophet Muhammed (saw), sisters gave reminder of how we must also use this month to reflect upon the Prophet Muhammed message & mission.
    Sisters spoke about how Prophet (saw) invited mankind to submit to Allah (swt) authority alone and how he struggled with his life to eradicate the batil and establish a society based on values, laws & systems of Allah (swt).
    However, today as Muslims commemorate the life of messenger (saw), the ummah fail to implement his message or continue with his noble mission. Muslim live under corrupt oppressive regimes who defy the sunnah in economy, law, social and foreign policy etc Worse still, these Muslim countries have replaced the state and government that was the sunnah with secular man made laws and rules!
    Sisters gave examples of the killing of the Innocent Muslims by drone attacks in Pakistan, Yemen & the women and children being massacred by tyrannical Regime of Syria, Egypt etc the Muslim rulers have clearly abandoned the orders of the Prophet Muhammed (saw) to protect the blood and honour of the ummah and failed to uphold the orders of the Prophet (saw) in rulings and politics.
    Sisters spoke about how we must revive Islam by not limiting the following of sunnah to only morals, clothing , character etc but look to follow sunnah of Prophet Muhammed (saw) in all affairs of life including economics, education and social issues . This requires us to speak up against oppression and challenge regimes who do not rule exclusively by Islam.
    Sisters urged community not to just use rabbi ul alwaal as a month of dhikr + celebration but to also reconnect to the revolutionary message of the Prophet (saw) - we must carry the Dawah and present Islam as an alternative system for mankind.
