Once he gave a khutbah and he says, "I looked around me and I noticed all of these thousands of men crying. And I said to myself, 'what would be my fate if I cause them to enter jannah and neglect myself? What type of scholar am I, if I facilitate the salvation of others without saving myself? So I made a sincere dua to Allah that His religion be protected from the possibility of thousands of people saying to themselves on the Day of Judgement, "How is it that the Imam empowered us to reach jannah but failed himself?"
