Obwohl der mutmaßliche Täter sich gestellt hat, verschweigt die Polizei vorerst das Motiv. Warum berichtet niemand darüber? MEINUNG Und wieder einmal muss ich eine solche Nachricht über die sozialen Medien erfahren. Drei muslimischen Studenten ist am Dienstagabend in der Stadt Chapel Hill im Bundesstaat North Carolina in den Kopf geschossen worden. Ich suche sofort nach Nachrichten. Vergeblich. Die Medien haben noch nicht darüber berichtet. Ich erfahre es von muslimisch-amerikanischen Youtubern. Sie posteten Bilder der Opfer und schreiben darüber „Von Gott kommen wir und zu ihm kehren wir zurück". Ich schaue mir die Fotos genauer an. Es sind zwei junge Frauen mit Kopftuch und ein junger Mann. Wahrscheinlich sogar jünger als ich. Auf den Fotos sieht man, wie eine der Frauen ihren Highschool-Abschluss in der Hand hält und in die Kamera strahlt. Auf dem anderen Foto tanzt sie auf ihrer eigenen Hochzeit. Ich schaue mir das Datum der Fotos an und mir läuft ein kalter Schauer den Rücken herunter. Beide Ende Dezember 2014 aufgenommen. Gerade als das Leben dieser jungen Menschen begonnen hatte, wurde es beendet.... Die Welt zeigt keine Anteilnahme Ich schaue mich weiter in den sozialen Medien um und halte Ausschau nach Nachrichten. Kaum einer scheint davon etwas mitbekommen zu haben. Wieso nur? Weil es den deutschen Medien anscheinend nicht wichtig genug erschien, darüber zu berichten? Niemand ändert sein Profilbild, kein Politiker äußert sich zu dem Attentat. Ich versuche nicht direkt darüber zu urteilen und will geduldig sein. Doch ich frage mich innerlich, warum die Nachricht um Charlie Hebdo in Paris sich so schnell verbreitet hat. Alle Welt schien es kaum erwarten zu können, „Je suis Charlie" zu schreiben und über den Terrorismus bezugnehmend auf den Islam berichten zu können. Von Muslimen weltweit wurde erwartet, sich von dieser Gräueltat zu distanzieren. Aber jetzt? Nun haben wir die Rolle der Täter und des Opfers vertauscht. Muslime sind nun die Opfer. Doch die Welt zeigt keine Anteilnahme. Erst am späten Nachmittag lese ich im Spiegel, dass sich der mutmaßliche Täter namens Craig Stephen Hicks gestellt hat. Es soll sich dabei um einen „radikalen Atheisten" handeln, der auf seinem Facebook-Profil deutlich macht, dass er Religionen hasse. Über das tatsächliche Motiv will sich die Polizei vorerst nicht äußern. Zudem sollen Lokalmedien in North Carolina anfangs verschwiegen haben, dass es sich bei den Opfern um Muslime handelte und versucht haben, den Vorfall herunterzuspielen. Der Bruder und Schwager eines der Opfer erstellte eine Facebook-Seite als Gedenken an die Ermordeten. Er nennt sie „Unsere drei Gewinner". Auf der Seite teilt er persönliche Informationen über sie. So erfahren wir, dass Deah und Yusor erst im Dezember geheiratet haben. Deah studierte im zweiten Jahr Zahnmedizin. In seiner Freizeit pflegte er Obdachlose und sammelte mit seiner Frau über eine Online-Kampagne Spenden für syrische Kriegsflüchtlinge. Deah plante sogar im Sommer in die Türkei zu reisen, um syrischen Flüchtlingen vor Ort zu helfen. Seine Frau Yusor war im vergangenen Jahr bereits in der Türkei in Kilis gewesen und unterstützte ebenfalls syrische Flüchtlinge. Im August wollte sie ebenfalls mit ihrem Medizinstudium anfangen. Ihre jüngere Schwester Razan engagierte sich ehrenamtlich und war in ihrem Bekanntenkreis bekannt für ihren Optimismus, mit dem sie ihre Umgebung ansteckte. Die jungen Menschen standen mitten im Leben Ich lese mir all diese Informationen durch und halte meine Tränen zurück. Was ist mit unserer Welt los? Diese jungen Menschen haben niemandem etwas angetan. Im Gegenteil, ihr Lebensziel war es anderen zu helfen. Ein Studium zu absolvieren, mit dem sie anderen helfen konnten. Junge Menschen mit guten Absichten und reinem Herz. Warum mussten sie sterben? Nur weil sie Muslime sind? Und ich bin mir schon fast sicher, dass es nach den Ermittlungen heißen wird, dass der Täter psychisch nicht zurechnungsfähig war und nichts für seine Tat könne. Wahrscheinlich hatte er eine schlechte Kindheit erlitten, die ihn traumatisiert hatte. Wie oft haben wir uns solche Erklärungen anhören müssen? Warum schenkt man einem Muslim nur Beachtung, wenn er hinter, aber nicht vor der Waffe steht? Und sobald der Täter kein Muslim ist, spielt seine religiöse Zugehörigkeit überhaupt keine Rolle. Dann ist er eine unzurechnungsfähige Person, die gewisse Gründe für diese Tat hätte. Warum steht die westliche Welt nicht auf und distanziert sich von dieser Tat? Warum äußern sich die Politiker nicht dazu und schicken den Familienangehörigen ihr Mitgefühl? Warum? Warum? Warum? Weil es niemand erwartet? Weil niemand sich mit diesem Mörder identifiziert? Weil wir alle Mord verabscheuen und das niemals gut heißen würden? Und weil der Mörder kein Muslim ist. Dass diese jungen Menschen sterben mussten, macht mich zutiefst traurig. Doch obwohl sie einen so grausamen Tod erleiden mussten, weiß ich als gläubige Muslimin, dass diese Menschen nicht umsonst gestorben sind. Sie haben ihren Platz bei Gott. Ich wünsche den Familienangehörigen viel Kraft und Geduld.
