Die völkerrechtswidrigen Angriffe werden vom Westen nicht nur stillschweigend abgenickt. Auf der Zunge zergehen lassen muss man sich die Stellungnahme der Bundesregierung: "Das ist nach den Regeln des Völkerrechts legitim, wenn auf die Bitte eines demokratisch gewählten Staatsoberhaupts Nothilfe gewährt wird." Demnach hätte Putin dann das Recht gehabt, russ. Westliche Medien berichten auffallend wenig, eiern meist nur herum und faseln etwas von einem Konflikt zwischen Sunniten und Schiiten. In der Realität sind allerdings große Teile der jemenitischen Streitkräfte zu den schiitischen Ansarollah-Rebellen übergelaufen, da der jemenitische Präsident Hadi, den die US-Regierung in Absprache mit den Saudis als Nachfolger des 2011 gestürzten Saleh einsetzten, eine zu offensichtliche Marionette fremder Interessen ist. Daher konzentrierten sich die saudischen Luftangriffe auch auf die Stützpunkte der jemenitischen Luftwaffe und Flugabwehr, was den offiziellen Begründungen aus Riad vom Kampf gegen die „schiitischen Huthi" Hohn spricht. So hat Ex-Präsident Saleh – im Gegensatz zu Hadi – noch zahlreiche Anhänger in den Streitkräften und bei sunnitischen Stämmen, die sich dem Aufstand angeschlossen haben. Der Aufstand gegen Präsident Hadi hat also in Wirklichkeit eine viel breitere Basis als nur die schiitischen Ansarollah. Die Saudis und ihre Koalition erzreaktionärer Regimes entpuppen sich einmal mehr Erfüllungsgehilfen u. Komplizen imperialer Machtpolitik.
