Es ist wichitg zu wissen, wie diese Feierlichkeit zu stande kam, bevor man sich vornimmt daran teilzunehmen. Damals wurde das Neujahr der Nicht-Muslimen in der Zeit von Weihnachten gefeiert. Die Zeremonie für das "neue Jahr", welches Silvester gennant wird, geht auf einen damaligen Papst zurück, welcher auch den Namen Silvester trug. Er starb an einem 31. Dezember, ca. 7 Tage nach einem Weihnachtsfest und um ihn die Ehre zu erweisen, hatten die Christen den Neujahrswechsel auf seinen Todestag festgelegt. Dieses macht uns klar, dass Silvester ein Fest ist, woran leider viele unserer Geschwister teilnehmen, eine Ehrung eines Papstes ist, welche von Götzendiener zu stande kam. Aus der Sunna des Propheten (saw.) geht klar hervor, dass es für die Muslime nur zwei Feste im Jahr gibt: Das Opferfest und das Fastenbrechenfest. Alle Feste, die darüber hinausgehen, stellen eine Neuerung in der Religion dar und sind abzulehnen. Dies gilt sowohl für angebliche islamische Feste wie den „Geburtstag des Propheten" als auch für christliche oder jüdische Feste. Es ist daher weder erlaubt, an Silvesterfeiern teilzunehmen noch dazu zu gratulieren.
