In der Nacht auf Montag rückte die Feuerwehr wegen eines Feuers in einer Moschee in Eslöv aus, rund 40 Kilometer nordöstlich von Malmö, wie die schwedische Zeitung "Expressen" berichtete. Die Polizei geht von einem Brandanschlag aus. Offenbar wurde ein brennender Gegenstand durch ein Fester geworfen. Verletzt wurde niemand. Das Gotteshaus befindet sich im Untergeschoß eines Wohnhauses. Geheimdienst ermittelt Es ist bereits der 13. mutmaßliche Anschlag auf eine muslimische Gebetsstätte in diesem Jahr. Erst vor vier Tagen wurden bei einem ähnlichen Vorfall in einer Moschee in Eskilstuna fünf Menschen verletzt, eine Person davon schwer. Zum Zeitpunkt des Anschlags in Eskilstuna befanden sich rund 70 Personen in den Räumlichkeiten der Gebetsstätte. Der schwedische Geheimdienst Säpo ermittelt zu den mutmaßlichen Anschlägen – bisher ohne konkrete Spur. Vertreter der muslimischen Gemeinden vermuten hinter den Anschlägen islamophobe Motive mit rechtsextremem Hintergrund. Die einheimische Bevölkerung in Eskilstuna solidarisierte sich mit ihren muslimischen Mitbürgern. Viele Menschen brachten als Zeichen für ihre Unterstützung am Stephanitag Herzen und Blumen in die Moschee.
