This week on the Da'wah Table we had a great response of people coming along to voice their concerns about religion and Islam. We have a new technique which encourages more people to come to us, and engage in discussions and find out what the truth is. One young man, called Max, was very switched on and a big thinker who says that he 'overthinks' and used to be a Christian, and wanted to know many things about Islam as he doesn't know much but wants to know the truth. I told him how we know the creator exists as the Creator is separate from Creation and completely unlike the creation - we can create (i.e. a chair/iPhone) but this type of creation is just transformation of already created things, we cannot create anything from absolutely nothing, i.e. not even a fly, but the Creator can, we have knowledge, but we get this from our brain, which was created by the creator and he knows all things, we can see what is in front of us, but we cannot see all things because our sight is limited, however the Creator is unlimited. We can be merciful but the Creator is the Most Merciful and he agreed - there is nothing equal to the Creator. He hadn't read the Qur'an and wanted to know what we were calling to. I explained to single out the Creator and worship him. However, he wanted to know why it isn't arrogant to ask us to worship him. I told him, knowing that he is the absolute sustainer and creator is this not deserving of your thanks and gratitude and obedience. If your mother has carried you for 9 months, and fed you, and taught you, and clothed, and housed you, is she not worthy of thanks? He said yes, but we wouldn't worship her! I said of course and why not?! She only brought the food, Allah is the one who ultimately provided it, she is not the provider. Allah is the one who gave her the ability to get it, and the ability for you to eat it, and taste it, and digest it, and pass it. Allah is the one who created the process of your development in her womb, your mother didn't choose for you to develop in that way, or to have an umbilical cord! Allah is the one who gave you the heartbeat to enjoy life, and animals and fibres in order for us to make clothes from. So is this Creator not worthy of worship? He agreed and understood. I told him about the Qur'an and to assess the evidence inside that this is from the Creator and he took a copy of it and some small books. He will come back inshaAllah, because he is very switched on, and determined to know the truth. P.S. There is more to tell but it will become too long for you brothers and sisters to read and even my brother Adam Saleh wouldn't keep you hanging on that long, he will just upload a short clip or perform for a short time and tries to give the people what they want and not make them unhappy so I won't make you read a book rather than a post :) May Allah rectify his condition and guide him to that which is pleasing to Allah.
